Our Newfoundland outfit is operated by a Brother/Sister team from a remote wilderness camp in Moose Management Area 39 on The Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland.  What makes this outfit so unique is the area is accessible by float plane only and is located in one of the most densely populated Moose/Caribou areas on the island.  They also offer a later Caribou hunt, combined with small game, in the lowlands for Caribou Management Area 69.  Flights and change overs occur on Sundays, weather permitting.  The season starts on the second Saturday in September and they operate for 4-6 weeks depending on bookings.

A factor to consider when choosing an outfitter is whether an area has been over hunted?  Moose Management Area 39 has been hunted since 1993 and has a limited number of animals taken yearly.  This area is remote wilderness, as well, which gives limited access to residents during the hunting season.

The Wilderness location has a rustic log cabin facility with accommodation for groups of 4-6.  It includes:

• Indoor washroom & shower
• Running water
• Full-time cook with daily homemade meals, breads, buns, etc.
• Wood stove for heat and propane for cooking
• Mobile telephone for emergencies
• 8x12 ft. meat shed with screens for airing the meat as it hangs
• Boats & motors for transportation on the lake
