New Brunswick moose hunts are done only by a lottery.  Non-residents have a very good chance of getting their name drawn.  Applicants are accepted January to April each year and the draw is held mid-May.  Call for more details on the draw.

The hunt takes place in the peak of the rut, which allows us to call these huge animals into shooting distance.  This is a thrill of a lifetime.  Mature bulls can weigh up to 1,400 pounds and can carry a magnificent rack of antler with spreads of up to 70 inches wide.

The hunts are done in prime territory.  There are many miles of bogs and lakes mixed with soft and hardwood forest, the new growth caused by timbering gives moose plenty of food and no reason to leave.

Well-built tree stands and blinds will already be in place before the hunt starts.  Scouting by air is a great way to see the different sizes of moose and quantity in general areas.
